Podcasters Could Make Millions

Jul 27th, 2006 | By | Category: Making Money with Podcasts

Barnako is highlighting research from Nielsen Analytics, released last week, that focuses on the Economics of Podcasting. Barnako notes that the most popular podcasts, with downloads pushing 2 million downloads per month, could generate 6-digit advertising revenues. Barnako’s blog features a discussion (MP3) with Nielsen Analytics’ Larry Gerbrandt.

Jul 26th, 2006 | By | Category: General

Metallica

Metallica, one of the most visible holdouts in the world of digital music, is now in the iTunes Music Store.

Metallica famously sued Napster and asked that hundreds of Napster users that had been trading Metallica songs on the network be banned. Metallica’s Lars Ulrich also provided a statement to the US Senate on the issue of copyright infringement in 2000.The band ultimately settled with Napster, which resulted in many Napster users being blocked from the site.

Metallica and The Beatles have been two of the highest profile bands that have resisted selling their work via iTunes.
